Welcome to Friday’s Craft and Chat! I am glad you decided to join me today. This week I traveled for the first time since Covid happened. I was very proud of the people in the state I visited. The reason I say that is because the state I went to had stopped their mandate of wearing masks. Even though masks were not required, most people wore them. To me, it seemed people still were taken Covid seriously. It was nice to take the seven-hour drive to think and clear my head. How has your week been? I hope soon you can get out and travel some.

After five months and many people getting the vaccine for Covid, are we any safer? With the recalled on Johnson and Johnson, will the same happen with the other two vaccines? Have we been sold into thinking after everyone gets vaccinated, it will be life as it used to be? What part is money playing in all of this? These and many more questions one could ask themselves. I still feel Covid is real and will be with us for a while. The vaccine is just one weapon we have to fight Covid. We still can not take Covid for granted. I hope we do not put our guard down and stop being safe.

Do you know what time it is? Yes, it time for me to grab a cup of coffee and meet you in the craft room so we can make today’s card.

Crafting Steps

Another Card For Mother's Day Card

Today’s card will be the third card in my Mother’s day card. I believe in giving people their flowers when they are alive. Along with flowers, few techniques, and some roses, we shall create today’s card.

Materials:

8 1/2′ by 11′ lime green card stock

Designer card stock two different pieces

A variety of different flower stamps and flower spreads

Scissors

Markers

Inks in red, green, and pink

Glue dots

A sentiment

Steps:

  1. Trim the lime green card stock in half. You will have the card base for the card measuring 4 1/4′ by 5 1/2′.
  2. Fold the 4 1/4′ front side in 2 inches.
  3. Take one of the designer paper and cut it 4′ by 5 1/4′. Attach to the inside of the card.
  4. Cut the white piece of card stock down to 3 3/4′ by 5′.
  5. Take the other piece of designer paper cut it to fit the front folded pieces on the card base.
  6. Stamp a variety of flower and leaves stamps to make sure you have all different shapes and sizes.
  7. After you stamp the flowers, take the markers and color them in different colors.
  8. Use the scissor to fussy cut out all the flowers and leaves.
  9. Arrange the flowers on the fold panel on the front of the card.

Word of the Day

The word of the day is uplifting. What has uplifted you lately? Have you reached out and uplifted someone lately? Does uplifting someone make you feel something? By uplifting others, we go out of ourselves and think about someone else. When I do something that uplifts someone, it does something to my spirit. A smile, kind word, and a hug can uplift someone and make someone feel special. Let’s try to uplift someone this weekend.

Thanks for spending time with me today. I hope you will come back again. Please be safe and find time to craft and create.
